Anyone in here has ever had a canker sore? Me! (raising my hand). I actually have two right now and I’m suffering from the incredible pain this thing gives me. I guess having canker sore will always be a part of my life because I rarely experience not having one in a month.I’ve read many sources about it and what I learned was canker sores may be genetic (I certainly inherit it from my mother), it occurs in all ages especially in women, it may be caused by stress (yeah I’m prone to stress), poor immune system, poor oral hygiene, food allergies, and menstrual periods may also trigger the said phenomenon. If you ever had one, then you know how it feels – it has a tingling or burning sensation. Canker sores usually disappears after a week, so, within those seven days, you feel tired, experience having dry lips, you’re incapable of eating your meal, and sometimes, you become conscious when talking to someone for the mere reason those people might see the sore on your lips, tongue, or on any visible parts of the mouth (hehe.. that’s what I hate the most sometimes). I’m the queen of canker sore maybe, because I’ve experienced at most…mmmm… six (I guess) exactly at the same time. Imagine me having those sores under my tongue, on my lips, and on my gums. gggrrrr… I can’t forget that moment. Anyhow, my dentist advised me to use Bactidol mouthwash (which I did) and it may not quickly heal the sores, at least, it helps lessen the pain and slowly, the sores will disappear on its own. What I can tell you is, you must gargle Bactidol immediately right after you’ve bitten a part of your mouth or even the time you notice a sore is appearing. Also, avoid irritating foods (spicy foods, coffee, and junk foods) when having canker sores because they elicit intense pain (though I like such pain sometimes... hehe...). Don’t forget to brush your teeth all the time because having such sores may only be a sign a person has bad hygiene (hehe…). Better take good care of your health by having regular intake of vitamin C or other good sources of vitamin B to boost your immune system.

little adjustments

Our new semester for the school year 2008 to 2009 has already started and surprisingly, I remained in my section with new classmates around. There ought to be little adjustments in this situation because not all the people transferred in our section are my friends. Also, we were regrouped that’s why I have new group mates for our clinical exposure. In my group, students have mixed personalities and capabilities. There are those who, like me, are sometimes lazy and close minded, others are hardworking and simple, while some are bound to be in group one to serve as audiences when members seem to intimidate each other. These past few days, I got to know each one better and I try to adjust myself with them because blending with my new group mates will result in successful relationship if I do some moves in making things work. I don’t want to hurt any one, particularly my colleagues, for the reason I have no rights to do so but when the time comes I can’t tolerate one’s attitude, then sorry if I’ll displace my anger towards them if and only if I’ll come across my boiling point.

Pathology

I just watched this crazy and intelligently made movie entitled Pathology which tackled the deadly game of medical students of the University Hospital in Philadelphia. The film was all about killing many people in a variety of unique strategies and the medical students will diagnose those victims themselves (autopsy). Among those students or interns was Dr. Grey a.k.a Peter Petrelli in the known series ‘Heroes’. Milo Ventimiglia (Dr. Grey) was very amusing and kind of different in this movie compared to his other roles he usually portrays. Also, the beautiful Alyssa Milano a.k.a Phoebe Halliwell in ‘Charmed’ series was in the movie as well. I recommend this movie to people with high morbidity level since Pathology encompasses unusual deaths, violence, accompanied by sex, drugs, and infidelity. It’s a Rated R movie of course, so, if you think you’re mature enough to watch this film, better head on to your screen and watch Pathology all by yourself.
